RESTAURANT AND EVENT CENTRE
The Alton Mill is currently on its own private septic system, which limits water-intensive uses. Plans are in the works to service the village of Alton with a central municipal sewage treatment system. Once this is in place, the owners plan to add two new uses to the Alton Mill complex.
A full restaurant will be incorporated into the rebuilt section closest to the pond. Diners will have great views of the pond either via the sliding glass doors from the main space or from a patio overlooking the waterfall.
With the sewage system, a larger event facility will also be created out of the stone walls of the Annex. An addition will be built on the north and west sides to house lobby and service areas, and a new roof installed spanning the existing stone walls with glass above. The beautifully restored Annex walls will define a large event space available for art shows, conferences, banquets and weddings.
