BEING: Selected Sculptures by Ted Fullerton throughout the Alton Mill grounds.
September 25, 2010 - January 3, 2011
A joint presentation of the Alton Mill Gallery and Headwaters Arts.
These exciting works reflect imagery that is “symbolic and metaphoric by nature, usually associated or interpreted with myth that alludes to dualism or the personification of the force of nature, as well as human nature” as per Fullerton’s artist’s statement.
Since his career began in the 1970s, Fullerton has received numerous awards for his painting, printmaking and sculpture, and has been featured in numerous publications. He has also exhibited across Canada, England, Australia, Spain and Yugoslavia. In 1993 and 1994, he was artist-in-residence at Cape Dorset and at Canadore College.
Fullerton has won international awards for his prints and sculptures, and completed significant public sculpture commissions. Fullerton' works are in private, corporate and public collections across Canada and in the United States.

Quilt of Possibilities
July 21 to August 8, 2010
The Alton Mill is thrilled to host "The Quilt of Possibilities" - a travelling exhibition produced, in collaboration, by the Ontario Crafts Council and the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation. This dynamic quilt, which includes contributions from over 50 artists, celebrates the Ontario Greenbelt's 5th Anniversary. Each square evokes a personal connection that each maker has with this important landscape. We're especially proud of the square produced by the Alton Mill's own floral and fabric designer, Glenna Agnew, from studio 210. On display in the Pond Gallery. For more information go to www.craft.on.ca/Programs/Greenbelt
If you're planning a visit to see the quilt, please check our events calendar to ensure there isn't a private function in the Pond Gallery at the time you plan to come.
Heritage open house and guided tours. Admission free, donations to the Pond Fund welcome. The Alton Mill artists and guests will be setting up their easels outside and exploring the many creative opportunities to capture the historic beauty of the Alton Mill and surrounding property. The public is welcome to watch over their shoulders, ask questions and purchase the completed artwork.
Variations exhibition by the Mississauga Watercolour Society in the Pond Gallery
July 10 to 18, 2010
Paintings by 10 members of the Mississauga Watercolour Society include landscapes, still life and florals in various styles including representational, expressionist and abstract. Established 40 years ago, the Mississauga Watercolour Society meets regularly to paint in studio in winter and en plein air in summer. They have been inspired by the quaintness of Elora, the spectacular views of Terra Cotta, Caledon and the Niagara escarpment. This show includes award winning artists whose paintings have been juried into many prestigious exhibitions throughout southern Ontario.

Humber River Shakespeare is a professional touring theatre company dedicated to creating high caliber, classical theatre productions that are accessible, entertaining and popular.
With a biting tongue and a ferocious temper, the headstrong Kate bows down to no man. But then, a suspicious suitor named Petruchio swaggers into town with a mischievous plan to reach her guarded heart. Be prepared for a mix of high adventure and low comedy in this comic courtship. This no-holds-barred Battle of the Sexes is set in the world of Hollywood pirates and, with a cast decked out in colourful pirate garb, will explore the themes of love, greed and marriage.
The performance will be outdoors in the Annex Courtyard or indoors if raining. Admission by donation. Bring your own lawn chair or rent one of ours for $5.
