landscapes, rolling hills, waterfalls and the magnificently restored, award-winning, Alton Mill!

LOCAL COLOUR AT THE ALTON MILL CREATIVE ARTS CENTRE!

The Headwaters region boasts one of the largest concentration of artists in the province, each inspired by
the picturesque landscapes and tranquil, yet sophisticated lifestyle, that can be found in this rural oasis,
less than an hour northwest of Toronto!

The Alton Mill is thrilled to mount a group exhibition entitled Local Colour, showcasing works by four of
the region’s most prominent artists: Lucille Weber, Pete Paterson, Arnold De Graaf and Rosalinde
Baumgartner.

The Alton Mill is proud to present Cuisine-Art, a weekend celebration of food & art!

As well as open art studios and galleries, festivities include BBQ demonstrations featuring local area chefs (10am, 12noon & 2pm daily), “Toonie Tastings” wine & food samplings, fresh organic produce and local market offerings, seminar on the “Tao of Healthy Eating” by Dr. Paul Rankin (Sunday 3pm), public art painting project, a silent auction presented by Alton Mill studio artists, as well as a cash bar featuring selections from Wellington Brewery and Churchill Cellars.

Make a weekend of it, with an overnight getaway at the neighbouring Millcroft Inn & Spa. The Millcroft Inn’s Girlfriend’s Spa and Culinary Weekend Getaway Package is the perfect complement to Cuisine-Art!

SCULPTURE EXHIBITION
Saturday, May 2 to Sunday, July 12, 2009

Bronze sculptures by the internationally renowned Israeli sculptor Yael Erlichman. Making use of extraordinary technical skill and with an eye for vivid details, she imbues her inanimate bronze figures with profound emotion, humour and energy.


 

 

 

Orangeville Jazz and Blues Festival
Sunday June 7

Rock/Blues performance by TJ Whitelaw and his band, Sunday June 7th, from 2 to 5 pm at the Alton Mill as part of the Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival.

Refreshments and cash bar available. Enjoy the ambience of great music in this beautifully restored heritage building beside scenic Shaw’s Creek, just minutes away from Orangeville.
