PUBLIC FUNDING SUPPORT
The Alton Mill project was the recipient of funding from the Provincial Rural Economic Development (RED) and Federal Commercial Heritage Properties Incentive Fund (CHPIF) programs. Without the support from these programs, this project would not have been possible.
The RED program is administered through the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
The CHPIF program ws administered through Parks Canada. One of the underlying requirements for funding through CHPIF was that the project must adhere to the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada.
