About Seaton Group
The Alton Mill is owned by The Alton Development Inc., an affiliate of Seaton Group. Seaton Group was established by Jack Grant in 1954. Now operated by his sons Jordan and Jeremy, Seaton Group specializes in residential and commercial land development in small towns in south-central Ontario.
Seaton strives for innovation and excellence in all its projects, as evidenced by successful developments in a number of communities including Unionville, Woodbridge, Uxbridge and Rockwood.
Seaton’s Market Lane downtown revitalization project in Woodbridge was the recipient of the Ontario Renews Award (Site Renovation - Private Sector).
Seaton is a major shareholder of Seprotech Systems Inc., which is a manufacturer of water and sewage treatment systems including the patented ROTORDISK® system. Seaton is also a partner in an integrated development and house building company with Ashton Ridge Homes called Seaton Ridge Communities Limited.
Seaton’s overall approach to development is to build upon the special qualities that already exist in a community – to maintain the “sense of place” which is so important in all our lives. This requires long-term commitment to both the project and the community, from planning that is sensitive to both the needs of families and the natural environment, to selecting a builder whose pride of workmanship will lead to a pride of ownership among all who purchase there.
The focus of Seaton’s projects has been residential, with each project typically containing a commercial and/or office component. All of Seaton’s projects have included extensive open space and park systems which both preserve important natural features and enhance the community. Seaton’s philosophy emphasizes quality neighbourhood design and community planning which combine to create strong, diverse and healthy communities. Seaton is based in Toronto, with a second office in Guelph, Ontario.
