Floor Plans
A wide variety of studio spaces on three levels have been designed. Studio sizes range from 250 s.f. to 1,200 s.f.

Half the studios will be on the riverside and the other half will have a forest view, where magnificent northern light will flood into the studios. A handicapped lift will render most of the building accessible for those with disabilities.

A unique demising wall system with continuous clerestory windows above the eight foot height and full-height windows located at entrances and column lines will highlight the building's restored posts and beams. The exposed structural and mechanical systems, together with the rustic hardwood floors and the light flooding through the large exterior windows will create a truly unique and authentic environment for artists and creative professionals.

Site Planning
Site Planning is a very important component of this project, and careful attention has been given to protecting the historic character of both the buildings and site.

Through a combination of tree preservation, new landscaping, and environmentally sensitive design of the parking areas and stormwater management systems, the Alton Mill complex will be attractive and Green. With the addition of new site features such as two exterior courtyards, a riverside path, and waterfall viewing platform (plan view perspective sketch), the Alton Mill will be a beautiful and inspiring place to work, visit and shop.
