Fire & Ice 2013

1 min read

Thanks to everyone who came to Fire & Ice 2013! The festival went ahead last weekend despite warmer than average temperatures and saturday drew large crowds for live ice sculpture, gallery shows, and Paul Morin's spectacular fire sculpture. More than 200 people gathered to see Paul's creation, and to mark the dawn of a new era in Mayan mythology.

Attendees on Sunday enjoyed the many indoor activities and workshops provided by the artists and studios in the Mill. Patrons were treated to the glassware, photography and raku of 'Fire & Ice' in the Dam gallery as well as 'Clouds in My Coffee' in the Crimson Feather. Congratulations to Steve Wilkie, who won the People's Choice Award for his photo 'Transitions' on display now in 'All Fired up!' in the Falls Gallery.

Photographers! Don't forget to submit your photos of Paul Morin's Fire sculpture to the 'Capture the Burn' photo contest for a chance to win a month of display space in the Millrace room

Many thanks to Soulyve Caribbean Fine foods for catering our H'eat it up! dinner event. Also, thanks to Ed roman and the Rubber Brothers for providing musical accompaniment.
