Mark NixonBurn Island by Mark NixonThe extreme cold didn't make it easy for photographers and videographers this year at the 10th annual Fire & Ice Festival in Alton! Nevertheless, festival-goers braved frozen fingers, frosty lenses, and the fleeting battery life of their devices to capture stunning images and footage of the event.

Thank you to everyone who participated, by submitting their Fire & Ice photos and videos, via the online submission form! This year's entries showcased a breadth of creativity & artistic flair and provided the jury with a diverse range of character and subject matter.

Congratulations to the winners Mark Nixon (photo category) and Kadin Morin (video), with honourable mentions (top to bottom, following Nixon's images of Brian Oates' fire breathing dragon sculpture and Burn Island's Owen Dixon) to Dave Annis, Jim Waddington, and Ekaterina Chistyakova. The overall winners of each category, photo and video, will have the opportunity to showcase their artwork in the Alton Mill Arts Centre's Falls Gallery during the 2019 season.
