Food & art -- delicious art, beautiful fare!

The 3rd annual Cuisine-Art promises to be nothing short of spectacular. With the return of our popular Toonie Tastings, the area’s finest in Art, Food and Drink, our Open Air Market, and Humber River Shakespeare Company performances of Comedy of Errors, Cuisine-Art is the event of the summer – you will not want to miss it!

Cecily Ross, editor of the area's latest food publication, Food in the Hills and former food & wine editor of The Globe and Mail, will officially open Cuisine-Art at 11:00 am Saturday July 16th as she introduces the first of six culinary BBQ demonstrations featuring award-winning local chefs:

Saturday July 16
11:00 am – 1:00 pm - Chef Gilles Roche of Gourmandissimo
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm Chef Jill St-Amour of the Millcroft Inn
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm Chef Lena Valiquette of The Tea Boutique

Sunday July 17

Toonie Tastings sample delicious tidbits from the chefs' demos for just $2. All proceeds go to the Alton Millpond Rehabilitation Fund.

Open Studios – the Alton Mill artists and artisans will be opening their studios to the public all weekend – this is your chance to experience the creative process of some 25 individuals in their own working environment, and come away with that perfect piece of artwork or a hand-crafted gift.

Art and Drink Pairings at various locations around the Mill match our artists' work with samples of beverages from Churchill Cellars, Spirit Tree Estate Cidery, Wellington Brewery, The Wine Coaches, Shaw’s Creek Café and more. Visitors are encouraged to Pick the Perfect Pair and choose their favourite Art /Drink combination.

The Cuisine-Art Marketplace, open Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm in the Annex Courtyard, will feature fresh organic produce and local market offerings.
