Join us for a three-week-long celebration of all the Arts in the Hills of Headwaters. This year the gala and juried art show will be hosted right here at the Alton Mill Arts Centre. There will also be new art shows in all our galleries, open studios, workshops, demos, performances and special art activities all three weekends.

Also throughout the hills of Headwaters region there will be open studio tours and gallery exhibitions, Authors Night, art film screenings, and music performances. For more information, visit http://headwatersarts.com

Opening is September 5th Light refreshments will be provided. The images created are embodied in landscapes and space scapes which are only meant to be seen by the viewer without any context but the viewer’s own. “Why, or why not” is for the viewer to decide.

Celebrate an explosion of artistic creativity at the historic Alton Mill Arts Centre. View the work of 25 + artists in their studios, explore new exhibitions in our galleries, take an arts workshop, and relax over lunch at the café. Special musical performances most weekends. Soloworks eclectic virtuoso violin performance by Anne Lindsay on Thursday Sept 24 sets the stage for a Headwaters Arts Festival/ Culture Days weekend filled with art, music and wonder.
 
Janet Simmons Sweet "Recede" Exhibit

A conceptual exhibition exploring the plight of glaciers, from the edge to the ridge. Opening reception Saturday September 26, 2-5pm.
 
Margi Taylor Self Taylor Self Studio

Margi’s love for the creative process has motivated her to paint and to do print-making. While she favours traditional techniques, her current focus includes mixed media and acrylics painted with an abstract edge. Situated in the historic Alton Mill Arts Centre, her studio provides inspiration to artists and visitors alike.
 
Give it a Whirl 
Saturday September 19 & 26

Try your hand at the ancient art of Encuastic painting with Andrea Bird in "The Hive" Studio upstairs. No experience necessary. Andrea will first give a demonstration and then guests will be given thirty minutes to try it themselves. $15 per person. 
 
Saturday September 26 & 27
@ 1-3pm 

Culture Days ‘Spontaneous Creativity’ activity. Visit dancing moon designs and try your hand at making an on-the-spot artistic contribution to a piece of communal 'doodle art' or create your own ‘zen’ statement with a spontaneous sand mandala.FREE throughout the weekend of Sat. Sept. 26 & 27.
