Welcome in the holiday season by enjoying this watercolour session where you will use masking fluid plus a classic technique called “wet-on-wet” to create the effect of snow-covered branches on pine trees with studio artist CJ Shelton. With its classic Christmas tree look, your finished piece can be photographed and printed on cards or used as a digital signature in holiday e-mails to friends and family.

 

CJ will gently guide you through all the techniques, plus give tips on how to use an online printing service to make your final painting into beautiful Christmas cards. What could be more enjoyable than a relaxing afternoon spent sipping tea and painting in the tranquil environment of CJ’s studio at this hectic time of year!

 

New students are welcome, even newbies who have never tried watercolour before! Students who have taken previous watercolour sessions with CJ will get extra tips on creating other effects such as background trees, reflections in ice and adding in different types of trees to produce a truly one-of-kind image.

 

Please bring any watercolour brushes or paints you currently have although supplies will be available for those who don’t have them. Paper and stretching boards will be supplied.
