To celebrate the studio's opening, our newest tenant Lydia Panart is hosting a solo exhibit, entitled Umbrales (meaning "Thresholds") throughout November. The exhibit will showcase some of her latest work and allow for the community to connect through art.

A Threshold is a transitional space: a passage from one level to another. The selected artworks for this exhibit represent her intermediary state from one experience to another. They all reflect significant moments of self-reflection, bringing out progressive shifts as an invitation for her to step into the next stage and look for new learning opportunities to gain inner growth.

Lydia Panart graduated in Architecture from the National University of Buenos Aires. Following the architectural practice, she developed her professional artistic career under the mentorship of renowned Argentinean master Kenneth Kemble. Panart has participated in national and international art exhibits and was nominated in 2016 for TD Bank's "10 Most Influential Hispanic Canadians." Panart is known for her thought-provoking abstract paintings.

As a passionate educator, her goal is to continue offering virtual and in-person co-creating workshops for institutions, corporations, and small groups at her new space.

Artist Statement:
"Art has always allowed me to express myself and the Alton Mills Art Centre is the perfect destination to grow and enrich my artistic practice," says Lydia Panart. "I'm thrilled to be joining this artistic community and looking for new interactions and inspirations. I invite art lovers, curious minds and the community of Caledon to come by for a visit and engage in a visual dialogue with me."

There will be 2 DOOR PRIZES drawn during the show. The first is a semi-private 3 hour in person workshop in her studio for up to three participants, valued at $450 (all materials included). Date and time to be arranged. The second is a 24” x 24” abstract artwork on canvas valued at $1000.
Sign up in person at the Solo Art Exhibit to enter the door prizes. Two winners will be drawn on November 15!
