Contemporary Surrealism

Michelle discovered her passion for painting while studying in the Art & Art History program at the University of Toronto. She went on to complete further studies in Interpretive Illustration at Sheridan College and worked in commercial art before dedicating herself fully to oil painting.

Now based in Alliston, Ontario, Michelle has developed a distinctive semi-abstract style that blends narrative and imagination. Her process begins with intuitive mark-making directly on the canvas, allowing the story to unfold organically through free-flowing lines, layered shapes, and rhythmic movement. The result is a body of work that feels both surreal and grounded—each piece inviting viewers to find their own meaning and emotional connection.
