The Fire & Ice Festival Returns for it’s 17th year!
Plans are underway for the 17th annual Fire & Ice Festival here at the Alton Mill Arts Centre! We are excited to be planning for the return of our cornerstone events like the Ice Carving Invitational and the Big Burn as well as pond skating on the rink and the super snow slide with Mother Nature’s blessings.

Yes. Tickets may be purchased online in advance or at the gate. General Admission tickets are valid for either Saturday or Sunday.
Save time at the gate by buying your ticket in advance, here.

Tickets are non-refundable but transferable if your plans change. Please check your confirmation email for details.

Absolutely! Fire & Ice is designed for all ages, with family-focused activities, art experiences, and both indoor and outdoor fun throughout the day.
Dogs are welcome, but must be on leash at all times.
Children and Pets must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Yes! Guests can enjoy skating on the Alton Millpond. Skating availability is dependent on ice conditions and safety approvals.

Yes. Guests are welcome to bring their own skates. Skate rentals are not available on-site.
Helmets are encouraged for all skaters, especially those who are just learning or out of practice.

Dress warmly! Fire & Ice is primarily an outdoor event with some indoor experiences. We recommend:
Warm layers
Waterproof boots
Hats, gloves, and scarves
Comfortable footwear for walking the property

Yes! Fire & Ice is a rain, snow, or shine event. Winter weather is part of the magic—just be sure to dress for the conditions.

The Alton Mill Arts Centre is a historic site with varied terrain. While many areas are accessible, some outdoor paths and older building features may present challenges, particularly in the snow. If you have specific accessibility questions, we encourage you to contact us in advance so we can assist where possible.

There is no parking on-site. Free off-site parking with a shuttle service is available and strongly encouraged.
A complimentary shuttle bus will loop between the Alton Mill Arts Centre, Agnes Street, and Alton Legion from 10:00 am - 11:00 pm on Saturday, Jan. 31, and 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 1.
Street Parking is also available.

Yes! A selection of local food vendors will be on-site offering warm food, sweet treats, and beverages. Additionally, our Honour Café and Hot Stove Lounge will be open inside, serving a variety of lighter fare, crisp and refreshing Good Lot Beer, John Sleemans & Sons Craft Whisky, Wine and Ciders.
