Visitor Essentials

  • Wednesday to Sunday | 10 AM - 5 PM

    Explore the shops, galleries, café, and heritage exhibit at your leisure during our regular business hours. Select artist studios are also open—hours vary.

    Want to see a specific studio? Please contact the artist or schedule an appointment in advance.

  • Located less than an hour from Toronto and easily accessible from most of Southern Ontario, we are easy to get to!

    • Turn left into the Alton Mill Arts Centre driveway.

    From North of the GTA:

    • Turn left onto ON-10

    • Keep right onto Queen St. W.

    • Turn right on Amelia St.

    • Turn left into the Alton Mill Arts Centre driveway.

  • We offer free on-site parking for your visit, with street parking also available on surrounding streets.

    Our four 30-amp level 2 EV chargers are active on the Flo network and located conveniently in our central parking lot.

    Alton Mill offers designated, accessible parking spaces, as well as level entrances, large washrooms and a lift to ensure that all guests can enjoy their visit.

  • We currently offer an Honour Café, located just inside the main entrance. With a selection of hot and cold beverages, sandwiches, baked goods and soup.

  • Four to five times each year, we host Open Studio Events where the artists open their doors and encourage everyone to come on in and discover their art.

    It’s a great opportunity to learn more about their process or perhaps the story behind your favourite piece!

  • We are pleased to welcome all visitors to our unique spaces. There is no admission fee to explore the Alton Mill, though some workshops and events may have associated costs.

  • The art displayed at the Alton Mill is for sale. You will generally see a price listed on the associated label. Outside the galleries and studios, many pieces are displayed throughout the building. If you wish to purchase a piece, please visit Magpies’ Nest on the main floor.

  • We absolutely are a pet-friendly environment! Pet’s on leash are invited to explore along with you, provided you are a responsible pet parent.
