If you haven't already heard of Patreon, it's an up-and-coming online platform exclusively for connecting artists and creators with their fans. On Patreon, you can subscribe monthly to your favorite artist and in exchange you receive online classes and more.
Both Kim Kool from The Hive Encaustics Studio and CJ Shelton at Dancing Moon Designs offer monthly subscriptions on Patreon with multiple levels depending on your desired amount of content. Both artists begin their subsriptions at less than $10 a month.
Kim has three tiers, Hummingbird, Honey Bee, and Butterfly. Hummingbird offers things like monthly challenges and creative prompts, and is meant for people who need a little more inspiration, whereas Butterfly, meant for the creative entrepreneur, offers everything from artistic prompts and techniques and exclusive insight into Kim's practice, to valuable advise for starting a business. Kim is an insightful and creative person that would be a fantastic help if you're looking to learn encaustics, or whatever your creative outlet her prompts and ideas are extremely useful and inspiring.
CJ Shelton has had a long career as an artist and has so much valuable knowledge to share. CJ also has a exceptional relationship with nature and will help you get in touch not only with your creative side but with the natural world around you.
CJ's Patreon also has three tiers, the Seed Circle, Flower Circle, and Tree Circle. Seed Circle is only $5 per month and is perfect for beginners, offering mindfulness exercises and drawing tutorials, and encourages you to get inspired by nature. During regular times it was always so wonderful to have people from the community and afar come to the Mill for classes and workshops. Although this isn't an option right now, it's so great that these artists are still be able to offer these options to connect with their fans and offer such personal creative outlets.
