Enjoy an afternoon of sipping tea and painting! Learn to create delightful little sketches of Nature’s late blooming flowers and other foliage such as dried weeds, bulrushes and teasles. This traditional art form of botanical painting was practiced by Victorian ladies to record their day-to-day findings in the fields and forests as they “took the air”.

You will be painting from live specimens to create your studies so each student is encouraged to bring a few from their own gardens or the local fields and meadows to give us a nice selection to work with. Mill artist CJ Shelton will guide you with all kinds of tips and tricks and the kettle will be on too with a selection of loose-leaf and bagged teas for your enjoyment. What a perfectly delightful way to spend a fall afternoon!

New students are welcome, even complete newbies who have never tried watercolour before! If you have taken sessions with CJ this one will build on your previous drawing or painting skills and add additional ones to your repertoire. Please bring any watercolour brushes or paints you currently have although supplies will be available for those who don’t have them. Paper and stretching boards will be supplied.

Please note there are two dates available to take this workshop!
Friday, September 21 from 1-4:30pm
or Saturday, September 29 from 1-4:30pm
Cost: $85 + HST per person

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Contact CJ at 519-942-2018 or email artist@dancingmoondesigns.ca
