Kids Artfest

Kids Artfest is back! Children can come out and sample the arts, get a taste for dance, painting, pottery and photography to name a few, without the commitment to a long term program. Artists present their workshops, encouraging the budding artists to paint, dance, capture the shot, hear the words or manipulate the clay…all in the spirit of creativity. 

"Four Corners" Plate Workshop

Saturday March 14th, 18th, 2015 10 am - 11:30am

Design & create your own small plate by preparing and compressing the surface. Add details of your own imagination or use stamps provided. Plates will be dried, fired and glazed for participants to pick up in about 2 weeks.

Draw Your Dragon with CJ Shelton

Discover the ‘knotty’ world of dragons and other fantastical animals, strange beasts and crazy creatures in this fun exploration of ‘zoomorphic’ designs. Gather bits and pieces from different animals to build your dragon, put them together and draw it all into a twisty-over-under knot pattern. Imagination plus a love of drawing (and dragons!) required.

Dry Brush Owl with Tanya Frew

Paint a ceramic owl during our 1 hour March Break art class. Children dry brush acrylic paint onto a white bisque owl perched on a log. Artists may use traditional or creative colours, allowing their personality to shine through.

Weave 2 Paintings Together with Emilia Perri

Handbuilt Mug with Ann Randeraad
