This 2-hour workshop for youth ages 12-17 will explore the creative process through a variety of encaustic and mixed media techniques. We will cover safety and general information about encaustics. We will then learn how to layer and fuse the
wax, using a variety of heating techniques to create rich, luminous layers of colour. The spontaneous nature of the wax lends itself well to a variety of mixed media techniques such as collage, stencilling, inks, photography, and more.
This workshop is part of an ongoing series for youth. Workshops do not need to be taken in order.
Absolutely no previous artistic experience required. All supplies and equipment included.
