Weaving Perspectives

1402 Queen Street W. Alton ON L7K 0C3

Exploring the various intricacies of our materials, we have each journeyed through divergent topics in an attempt to weave together abstract representations of our individual perspectives. A total of 42 artworks are on display with each artwork incorporating two different non-traditional visual materials; twine and tulle. Through these materials, we have examined the unique characteristics while focusing on texture, form and dimension, and a minimalistic colour palette of whites and beige. Playing with three-dimensional elements in the artworks, and responding to the natural light and white walls within the Pond Gallery, the pieces are meant to merge with the space but also remain detached from it. This is a direct commentary of weaving our personal viewpoints and universal experiences within spaces and with one another.
